If you have irritable bowel syndrome, you may be experiencing uncomfortable, gut-related symptoms such as diarrhoea, flatulence, and pain. If so, we would like to let you know about a new clinical study that you may be able to participate in!
This study is to see if adding a dietary supplement to your current treatment will help manage your symptoms.

-Adults, ages 18 to 65
-Fluent in the English language
-Have irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D)
-Have no history of inflammatory or immune-mediated GI disorders including but not limited to ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease or coeliac disease
-Are willing to attend one of the following study clinics approximately 1-3 times during the 12-week study:
-Paratus Clinical Research Central Coast – Kanwal, NSW
-Paratus Clinical Research Western Sydney – Blacktown, NSW
-Paratus Clinical Research Canberra – Bruce, ACT
-Paratus Clinical Research Brisbane – Albion QLD
If you are eligible to participate, you will need to visit the study clinic 3 times over approximately 12 weeks to have your health checked. You may have the option for two of these visits to be by a nurse in your home if you cannot access the clinic. During these visits you will be asked questions about your health and medical history, you may have blood drawn and stool collected for testing, and you may have other health testing performed. Your medications will be delivered to your home and you will be told how to take them. Between visits to the clinic you will need to download an app onto your smart phone where you will complete a stool diary. You will also be required to complete regular questionnaires about how you are feeling.
All items needed to conduct study tests will be provided. You are not responsible for any study-related expenses.
Is there any benefit to this study?
You may experience relief from symptoms related to your IBS-D. Additionally, you will be compensated for your time and participation and receive a personalised gut microbiome report.
No. You don’t need to provide a copy of your medical records from your doctor, however you will be asked to answer some questions related to your past and current health status to ensure you qualify.
This study requires you to participate for 12 weeks.
All participants that complete the study and supply microbiome samples that contain enough usable information to pass quality control filtering will receive a gut microbiome report.
