Fill Out Our Form

If your child qualifies through the pre-screener, be on the lookout for a phone call from the study staff to schedule your child’s dental screening appointment.

If your child passes the dental screening assessment, they can then use the toothpaste twice a day for a year and will be asked to return for four additional study visits over the course of the next year.

You have questions. wE have answers.
What is the purpose of this study?

The purpose of this study is to observe how effective an investigational arginine toothpaste is in reducing tooth cavities when compared to fluoride toothpaste. Arginine is generally considered safe and is an amino acid that is produced by the body and is also found in protein-rich foods.

For more information about the details of this trial go to clinicaltrials.gov .

How do I know if my child is eligible?

Fill out the pre-screener questionnaire above to find out if your child meets the basic study requirements. If your child passes the pre-screener, the next eligibility step would be to attend a screening visit so a study dentist can assess additional study requirements such as the presence of permanent molars and any early signs of cavities.

What do my child and I need to do to participate?

Participation for you as parent/guardian includes taking your child to study visits 5 times over the course of a year, filling out forms, and sharing dental and medical information with the study staff. Your child would need to attend these visits, answer some questionnaires, and brush twice a day using only the toothpaste provided by the study for the length of the time they are in the study. Regular visits to his/her own dentist should continue as normal.

What if I have multiple children that could qualify for the study?

Please fill out the above screener for the child that is most likely to qualify for the study, and you can discuss additional children joining the study when you speak with the local study staff. There is no need to fill out a second contact form.

Who is sponsoring the study?

The study is sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive. Colgate-Palmolive conducts over 200 clinical trials a year in research areas such oral health and skin health.

Is participation voluntary?

Participation is completely voluntary and can be ended at any time. Please let study staff know if you choose to end your child’s participation.

Does it cost anything to participate/ does my child need dental insurance to participate?
