Accelerating enrollment in a competitive landscape for dermatology trials

Recruiting patients for dermatology clinical trials is challenging. Potential participants already receive treatment from their primary care physicians, and inclusion and exclusion criteria are increasingly specific. From eczema to melanoma, this is a competitive and complex therapeutic area.

1nHealth takes full ownership of the enrollment process so your team can focus on what they do best—developing innovative solutions that improve the quality of life for millions.

Our difference

Recruitment for dermatology clinical trials requires specific expertise among complex criteria and various conditions

Dermatology trials require a patient recruitment partner who is an expert in a wide range of skin conditions, each carrying their own specific inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Patient populations must also be reflective of real-world populations to address demographic variations in skin type, genetics, and disease presentation.

And while approximately 85 million people in the United States are affected by skin disease, most individual conditions are rare—affecting a fraction of a percent of that. Identifying and engaging those niche populations can be difficult.

We understand these challenges.

Partnering with 1nHealth means embracing a future where patient recruitment is no longer a hurdle but a catalyst for success.

Your trial is complex and your patient recruitment must be an expert in this field

Our expertise

Eczema

Eczema, or atopic dermatitis (AD), is a chronic inflammatory skin condition affecting up to 20% of children and 10% of adults globally.

It is characterized by pruritus, erythema, and recurrent eczematous lesions, often leading to significant psychosocial and quality-of-life impacts.

Eczema is driven by a combination of genetic predisposition, immune dysregulation, and environmental triggers, such as allergens and irritants.

Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune disorder characterized by the progressive loss of melanocytes, leading to depigmented patches of skin.

It affects approximately 0.5–2% of the global population and can significantly impact patients’ psychosocial well-being and quality of life. The condition’s pathogenesis involves genetic predisposition, immune dysregulation, and environmental triggers, such as oxidative stress.

Vitiligo is classified into non-segmental and segmental types, with non-segmental being more common.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated skin condition affecting approximately 2–3% of the global population.

It is characterized by erythematous, scaly plaques, commonly on the scalp, elbows, and knees, and is associated with systemic comorbidities such as psoriatic arthritis, cardiovascular disease, and depression.

Psoriasis results from hyperproliferation of keratinocytes driven by immune dysregulation.
