What’s Involved?

We are testing a migraine device that’s being developed to relieve symptoms of migraine. This clinical trial is designed in such a way that the risks of participating are small and the potential benefits are greater than any potential risks. Some study details include the following:

  • Apply for the study using the pre-screener form above
  • Download the study app to register and continue through the screening process
  • Complete a 28-day migraine diary to track your migraines in the app
  • Enrolled patients will receive the study device in the mail for participation
  • This study can be done completely from the comfort of your own home
  • Upon completing all study activities, participants are eligible to receive up to $275 on a digital gift card

What is the device being tested?

The Mi-Helper device is a non-invasive, drug-free way to help relieve migraine pain and other symptoms. It works by using a special process of dry air flow across your nasal passages, providing a cooling effect that may help calm nerves that are thought to cause migraine attacks. The device also uses a nebulized saline mist for added comfort during treatment.

What is the purpose of this study?

We are conducting this study with the Mi-Helper device to find the most effective dose for pain relief and comfort. Some participants will get the active treatment and some participants will get the control treatment, where they will not receive the active study treatment- similar to a placebo.

How long would I participate?

The screening process will take about 4 weeks, during which you will complete a short daily migraine diary in the study app. If you qualify, the device is shipped to your door for use during your next migraine attack. You will have up to 45 days to use the device and complete the study activities. When it’s time to use the device, the study app will guide you to complete various questionnaires before and after your treatment session. Upon your completion of all study activities, you will return the device through our courier service using the return packaging provided. All shipping will be at no cost to you.

Is my confidential health information protected?

The study doctor and some members of the study team will be able to see your health information and it will be used for the purpose of this study ONLY.

Is my participation voluntary and can I withdraw at any time?

Yes. Your decision to be a part of this study is entirely voluntary and can be ended at any time.

Are there risks involved with participating?

Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. During this study, any risks posed to participants are minimal. You also have complete control over the treatment session – if you wish to stop it, simply move the study device away from your nose. The duration of this treatment is only 15 minutes.
